PROVIDER READINESS PROJECT
The Association of Learning Providers (ALP) is collaborating with Qualification & Curriculum Authority (QCA) to implement the 'QCF Providers Readiness Programme' within the FE sector.
To ensure by December 2010, Work based Learning (WBL) Providers who hold LSC contracts has the necessary expertise and systems in place to have a thorough appreciation of QCF and the impact of QCF on all learners and employers. ALP will act as a signpost and gateway to the Readiness Project using ALP appropriate communications, e.g. newsletters, websites and ALP branded events and for a number of providers access to ALPs new Provider Liaison Manager service.
The strategic aim is to successfully empower independent large WBL Providers with a comprehensive understanding of the framework and how the QCF will improve the learner offer by flexible learning delivery, bite size manageable achievements and the learning pattern which reflects the learner's pace and style of learning.
ALP will be recruiting a dedicated team of Provider Liaison Managers (PLM) in September to work with QCA in tandem with the large WBL Providers by informing senior managers of WBL Providers about the project aims and to encourage them to make use of available support services in terms of business and strategic planning activities.
The QCF is a new framework for recognising and accrediting qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The framework is at the heart of a major reform of the vocational qualifications system designed to make the whole system simpler to understand and use and more inclusive.
